Cat’sino Royale 2009
Imagine if you will, James Bond meets Monte Carlo, a black tie event that included all the sights and sounds of an elegant gambling casino. Upon arrival, sleek vintage cars, several seen in Ian Fleming’s 1960 movie Casino Royale, allowed guests a unique photo opportunity. A wide variety of silent auction items surrounded the classic cars and beautifully wrapped raffle baskets were later awarded to lucky winners. Cocktail hour included appetizers that were passed as guests leisurely played poker, black jack, roulette, craps or slot machines. And, when guests took a breather from gambling, they filled their plates with delectable buffet items catered by Simply Gourmet. A special treat added to the evening’s agenda was the amazing aerial maneuvers performed by young adults from the Pal Sailor Circus. This unique addition added a Cirque du Soleil flavor to this year’s event. Pictures of some of the 2,000+ cats Cat Depot has adopted were projected onto two large screens, providing additional visual delight. Guests also enjoyed dancing and listening to the music of Main Street Station, a former back up band for Foreigner. The proceeds from Cat’sino Royale will be used to continue Cat Depot’s exemplary work in providing care and shelter to abandoned, abused, and neglected felines and in finding homes for as many of them as possible. We thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you soon!
