It’s our birthday! For 23 years, Cat Depot is proud to be Sarasota’s trusted resource for cats and the people who love them.
Whether you’ve adopted, fostered, volunteered, donated, visited our clinic, attended an event, or simply shared our mission with others, you’ve helped make our story possible.
Thank you for 23 amazing years of love, support, and second chances. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
What better way to celebrate than by looking back at one of the things that has made Cat Depot so special from the very beginning: our commitment to creating a place designed specifically with cats in mind.
Cat Depot was formed on September 8, 2003 by a group of friends with open hearts and an understanding that that our area needed a true haven for cats.
Since then, Cat Depot has become a nationally recognized leader in feline rescue, adoption, and education. We’ve saved more than 21,000 lives—each one a testament to the power of compassion turned into action.
Built for Cats.
In 2009, we opened the doors to the area’s only rescue and adoption center designed specifically around the well-being, comfort, and individuality of cats.
No cages. No cold kennels. Just love, freedom, enrichment, and care.
Our 11,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility was created to give cats the space and environment they need to thrive—and to give people the opportunity to experience their personalities in a more natural, welcoming setting.
Built for Cats. And the People who Love Them.
What started as a vision to create a better future for cats has grown into 23 years of rescue, adoption, veterinary care, foster support, education, and helping cats and the people who love them.
Today, Cat Depot’s Adoption & Retail Center features:
