UPDATE: We did it! The Nine Lives Rescue Fund has already met—and exceeded—our $3,000 goal!
We launched this campaign today around 1:30 p.m., and in less than two hours, our incredible community came together to raise the funds needed to help cover lifesaving FIP treatments.
That is an incredible response, and it took all of you to make it happen.
Every donation, every share and every person who helped spread the word made a difference. Because of you, these kittens can continue receiving the treatment they need to fight FIP and have a chance at the lives ahead of them.
Maui and these nine kittens have a whole community fighting alongside them.
From all of us at Cat Depot, thank you for showing up when these kittens needed you most.
This is what rescue looks like.
Maui has already beaten the odds once. Found blind and alone as a kitten in Manatee County, this little girl knows how to fight.
Since arriving at Cat Depot, she’s been growing and healing in a loving foster home. And now, Maui is facing another challenge: Feline Infectious Peritonitis, or FIP.
But there is something important we want you to know about FIP.
Today, an FIP diagnosis can come with hope.
About FIP
For years, FIP was considered almost certainly fatal. Today, advances in veterinary medicine have changed that. Under the expert direction of our Medical Director, Dr. Cunningham, Cat Depot’s Shelter Hospital team has successfully treated cats with FIP using antiviral medication, giving kittens like Maui a real chance to recover.
Maui is one of 9 kittens currently in Cat Depot’s care who need FIP treatment.
The treatment is intensive. It typically lasts 84 days, with medication costing approximately $300 per kitten.
That means we need to raise $3,000 right now to help provide this lifesaving treatment for all nine kittens in our care.
Give Nine Kittens the Chance to Keep Fighting
Maui has already shown us how much fight she has.
Despite being blind, Maui continues to show us just how much life and determination she has. And now, with the right treatment, we want to give her—and the other kittens in our care—the chance to keep growing, healing and eventually finding loving homes.
That’s why we’re asking our community to support the Nine Lives Rescue Fund.
Will you help us raise $3,000 for their FIP treatment?
$25. $50. $100. $300.
Every gift helps us say yes when a kitten needs the care that could save their life.
Maui’s story isn’t about what she’s endured. It’s about everything that’s still ahead of her.
Help us make sure she gets there.
