Kids and Family Activities
Cat Depot believes in treating every cat with humane kindness, love, and care. We also know that children and adults who learn to extend kindness and care towards animals are more likely to treat other people with respect. This ongoing mission is shared with children and adults in the community through a variety of educational opportunities for all ages – school visits, field trips, tours, summer camp, and even birthday parties.
Reading to Rescues
On Sunday mornings, young readers are paired with a cat in one of our cozy cat rooms. Children bring or choose a favorite book and read aloud at their own pace while a curious kitty lounges nearby listening to the story.
Some cats may curl up beside readers. Others may play, purr, or quietly nap while listening. Every session is unique — and every cat makes a wonderful reading buddy.
Birthday Parties
Celebrate your birthday with Cat Depot!
Package includes 2 hours of rental time in our Community Center for a MAX off 20 children and up to 30 people total!
- A birthday message on the marquee
- Sound/projection system and laptop
- Tables and chairs (does not include tablecoths)
- Use of refrigerator and freezer
- An “Adoption Activity” for children (“Adopting” a toy cat, decorating a carrier, and receiving an adoption certificate)
- 30 minutes of playtime with kittens!
- 2 party assistants
- Set up time of 30 minutes prior to party
