Volunteers are the key to our success!
Volunteers are the key to Cat Depot’s success and the heart behind our mission. We rely on volunteers daily to support the care of the cats and kittens at Cat Depot and our numerous events and outreach activities. We have volunteer opportunities for individuals, high school students and groups.

Individual Volunteers
Cat Depot rescues and cares for cats 7 days a week, 365 days a year. On any given day, more than 100 cats are onsite. Our cats are fed twice daily, all cages are spot cleaned, litter boxes are scooped, water is refreshed, and cats are socialized and receive enrichment. Volunteers are vital support for our daily critical duties such as:
- Cat care and cleaning
- Adoptions support
- Meet and greet visitors
- Assist in the shelter hospital
*Please note that at this time, Cat Depot is not accepting volunteers in need of court-ordered community service hours.
Team Builds
Bring your team together while making a meaningful impact for homeless cats and kittens. Cat Depot’s Team Builds offer businesses, civic organizations, schools, and community groups the opportunity to spend a few hours volunteering on a project designed specifically for your team. Projects may include assembling enrichment items, organizing donations, preparing Food Bank, or other hands-on activities that support our mission.
It’s a rewarding way to strengthen teamwork, give back to the community, and help create brighter futures for the cats and kittens in our care.
High School Volunteers
The Pawsitive Futures Volunteer Program offers local high school students (ages 14–17) a meaningful way to make a difference while earning community service hours required for graduation. Participants work alongside Cat Depot staff and volunteers to support the daily care of cats and the operations of our shelter in a safe, supervised environment.
Through hands-on service, teens develop compassion, responsibility, leadership, and a deeper understanding of animal welfare—all while helping save the lives of homeless cats and kittens.
General Volunteer Requirements
- Volunteers need to be 18+ years or older, unless enrolled in our Pawsitive Futures Volunteer Program
- Volunteers will need to attend a Volunteer Orientation, Safety Training and training for the desired role or task
- Volunteers pay a $20 fee due at orientation to cover t-shirt, name tag, and training materials
- Prior experience is not needed. Cat Depot will provide all the on-site training you need to be successful.
