Cat Depot was proud to participate in the 10th Empty the Shelters adoption event, held May 7-10. And what an incredible weekend! Thanks to our dedicated staff, volunteers, fosters, and adopters, our Empty the Shelters promotion was a huge success and one of our strongest adoption weekends of the year.
Cat Depot celebrated 33 adoptions during our Empty the Shelters event, adopted out more than half of the cats on our adoption floor! This was also our second-highest adoption weekend of 2026 so far!
We are particularly excited because most of these adoptions were adult cats that had been overlooked due to the influx of adoptable kittens from the Spring. We were especially thrilled to see so many harder-to-place cats find loving homes, including our Positively Purr-fect boy, Rowdy.
Every adoption creates space for another cat in need, and this event made a tremendous impact. Thank you to everyone who helped make Empty the Shelters such a meaningful success for our cats and community!
